Regulatory Operations

The Community Regulatory Agency Operations Division is responsible for monitoring all casino activities in accordance with the Community Gaming Ordinance, the Arizona Tribal/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) regulations and casino policies and procedures. Gaming Agents must be familiar with the casino operations and the games hosted by the casino. Their primary responsibility is to protect the gaming enterprise against cheaters, theft, and other illegal activities. The Regulatory Operations Division actively audits casino operations to ensure compliance with the Compact and department policies. Gaming Agents assigned either to surveillance and in-person regulatory duties provide an invaluable service to casino management by sharing video coverage of relevant events and reporting for compliance purposes.

Gaming Agents are required to be on casino property at all times. They act as independent regulatory agents responsible for the fairness of gaming operations and investigate all unresolved disputes between the casino and their patrons. Additionally, Gaming Agents work with agents from the Arizona Department of Gaming to ensure compliance with the Gaming Compact and maintain the integrity of Indian gaming at both of Salt River’s gaming enterprises.

Compliance

The Compliance Division assists with the budget preparation and fiscal monitoring of the CRA.

The Machine Compliance section tests and inspects all gaming devices, table games, kiosks, bingo, and keno equipment before installation and after they are placed in service to ensure that they are in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the gaming compact. The Compliance Division reviews and approves special tournaments, lottery events and promotions offered by various departments of the gaming enterprises.

The Special Investigators conduct audits of the gaming enterprise in order to ensure that each section is in compliance with the Compact and casino policies.
