The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community envisions a balancing of the forces of economic development with the foundations of long-established Community values. More than any single idea permeating the plan is this one: that a sense of community pride, vision, and control of destiny is essential to the worth of the entire project. Physical identity, quality of facilities, character of services, and community activities are all intended to support this idea.
The General Plan is the Community's 'blueprint' for land use and development, as well as conservation and preservation; it serves as the basis for decisions regarding the Community's long-term physical development and the protection of the Community's natural and cultural resources. The General Plan establishes a framework of sustainability to ensure that current and future generations can sustain the social, economic, and environmental health of the Community. The map given below shows the different land use designations for the Community.
