Daily Exercise-SRPMIC

For many of us, exercise was already a habit. So all that needed to be done was a minor adjust or tweak to your workout so that the daily requirements of the You@Positive Challenge would be met. For others, you started some sort of daily exercise for the challenge.

Regardless, the You@Positive Challenge includes exercise, because exercise reinforces the belief that “what we do matters.” Of course everybody knows this, but there is a difference between knowing and daily acknowledgement.

Another reason exercise is a daily activity is the mounds of evidence that exercise elevates mood. Exercise enhances self-esteem. And exercise has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression as well as medicines, with much less side effects.

Related to the You@Positive challenge, exercise creates the biochemical environment in our brains that help us to focus, learn and think most effectively. For all these reasons, daily exercise is a key component in creating a “Happiness Advantage” helping us to think more successfully and boost productivity.

Exercise teaches my brain that my behaviors matter.

Resources for exercise will be coming soon. Consider contacting a WellPath coach to discuss options for exercise: www.wellpath.info/coaching .

You may continue your regular exercise routine if you like. Please be aware that increasing your regular exercise to every day for 21 days in a row may cause undue stress on the muscles and joints you use. In addition, the increase in exercise frequency may not yield improvement in fitness. You may want to choose one of the additional exercises as discussed below to do on the rest days of your regular exercise routine.

Please consider choosing an additional exercise, which you can do daily for the duration of the YOU @ POSITIVE Challenge. This would be a short simple exercise or two, which you would perform each day.

Coming soon: A menu of exercise routines will be available for you to choose one or two. These exercise routines will include a beginning and ending exercise test and an exercise prescription. The concept is that a short duration of daily exercise will produce measurable improvement during the YOU @ POSITIVE Challenge. This will train your brain to believe that your behaviors matter.

Congratulations on completing 21 days by May 21st, 2025. You will receive a link for a survey which you will use to report your success.
