Programs and Services
Supporting detainees for a successful transition to the SRPMIC community while maintaining stability within the detainee population is central to the mission of the department.
Our program offerings will vary based on available resources, facilitators and the needs of the detainee population. We are dedicated to making a difference in human lives through motivation for change, adaptation, and adjustment upon re-entry into the community but that success starts with personal accountability, personal growth, and the development of a strong work ethic and productive work habits.
We offer many programs and services to encourage more productive behavior upon release. Below is a list of detainee programs and services which inmates may utilize to re-direct their lives towards becoming productive, law-abiding members of the SRPMIC community and society.
Programs include educational (GED tutoring/testing, Rio Salado college) art classes, parenting (fatherhood), religious services, bible study, substance abuse/Alcohol anonymous classes, Yoga, healthy education relationships, Sweat Lodge, BHS/BIP batterers intervention domestic violence classes etc. We also permitted detainees to participate in the Fall Overhaul and provide cleanups outside the community.
We hope these classes have a positive effect on not only the inmates, but also the community as a whole.
