The Salt River Police Department strives to serve the community with a wide array of services and programs tailored to assist the community through education and awareness. From assisting in safely securing child seats in vehicles, providing awareness classes or having citizens accompany officers during a work shift, the Salt River Police Department places great value on the members of the community.
Listed below are just some of the community programs and services offered by the Salt River Police Department.
Child Safety Seat Inspections
Salt River Officers provide an inspection of your Child Safety Seat to ensure it is properly installed. Please call the Police Department at 480-850-8200 to speak to make an appointment.
Narcotics Awareness Presentations
Officers provide presentations to Community members about current drugs of use, how to identify drugs and who can assist if a family member or friend may be using drugs. Please call the Police Department at 480-850-8200 in advance to schedule a date and time for a presentation.

Extra Patrol
Officers who work your beat area (neighborhood) provide high visibility extra patrol. Please call the Police Department at 480-850-8200 to ask for extra patrol.
Traffic Enforcement and Education Projects
Motorcycle Officers provide extra high visibility enforcement and education with our “Speed Trailer” to reduce speeding or other traffic concerns. Please call the Police Department at 480-850-8200 to speak to our Motorcycle Officers to make arrangements.
Funeral Escorts
Officers provide traffic control for funeral processions within the SRPMIC. Please call the Police Department at 480-850-8200 to make arrangements.
Neighborhood Block Watch
Established in 1990, the Salt River Police Department provides education in the prevention and detection of crimes and has expanded to five neighborhoods which act as the “eyes and ears” of those areas in the Community for the Police Department.

Citizen Observer (Ride-along) Program
The Salt River Police Department allows eligible members of the public to ride with uniformed Police Officers, which provides the rider an invaluable insight into what duties the Police Officer performs and what services our Police Department provides to the Salt River Indian Community. Applicants under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian’s written permission. Certain eligibility conditions apply, to include however not limited to:

- Must complete Citizen Observer form and Waiver Form
- No Current Warrants
- No serious Criminal History

Upon completion of the required documentation please return to a supervisor of the Salt River Police Department.
Personal Safety Awareness Presentation

Community United in Finding Fugitives (C.U.F.F. - CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM)
Established in 1994, the Salt River Police Department was the first in Indian Country Law Enforcement to begin a CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM. The program allows individuals with information about any unsolved crime to call the program 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, remain anonymous and receive cash rewards of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction of persons who have committed a crime. Since inception, several homicides, narcotics and trafficking cases have been solved. We don’t need your name – we only need your information. It only takes one call to CUFF: 1-800-713-2833
Remember: We don’t need your name, you may remain anonymous – we only need your information to solve crimes and you may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
