Salt River Police Cadets

The Salt River Police Department Cadet program provides an opportunity for young men and women between the ages of 14 and 20 to work alongside, train with, and assist police personnel. The Cadets receive specialized law enforcement training, attend monthly meetings and volunteer to perform important community services. Along the way, they learn to work as a team, gain leadership skills, and they serve the community.

Cadets participate in many aspects of police work but are not placed in dangerous situations.

Cadets have the opportunity to broaden their understanding with firsthand knowledge of the challenges and job skills that make up their community’s police service.

In addition to gaining a working knowledge of police work, the participants have the opportunity to give of themselves to their community.

Although the Cadets are law enforcement oriented, they are volunteers and do not serve as police employees, sworn or civilian.
