Review the Salt River Community’s Proposed Ordinances
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) has its own Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to provide legal support and representation for the Community’s government, enterprises, departments, and divisions. The OGC plays a key role in ensuring SRPMIC operates within its legal framework while upholding tribal sovereignty. It advises leadership, represents the government in civil matters within Community Court, and helps develop and enforce tribal laws.
As a sovereign nation, SRPMIC establishes and maintains its own ordinances to govern and protect the Community. These ordinances are periodically updated, with proposed changes open for public input. Community members are encouraged to review the proposed updates and share their feedback before it is presented to the Community Council for consideration.
