Welcome Jr. Miss Salt River and Miss Salt River Participants:
The Miss Salt River Committee is very pleased and honored to have you participate in this year’s program. The Miss Salt River Committee has a history of promoting young women through culture, traditions, values and education. The Miss/Jr. Miss Salt River Program also provides opportunities for growth.
We are excited to announce this year’s 2025-2026 Pageants will be held at Talking Stick Resort!
- Jr. Miss Salt River Pageant: Friday, June 20th, 2025
- Miss Salt River Pageant: Saturday, June 21st, 2025

Application Forms
This Year’s Pageant Theme is: “Preserving O’odham and Piipaash cultures through resiliency”
Final submission of Pageant applications can be turned in by Friday May 2nd, 2025. Drop off applications can be submitted to a Committee Member at the following locations:
- Elisa Pongyesvia: SRPMIC Cultural Repository.
- Juleigh Burke, Talking Stick Resort – VIP Services.
- Jessica Ruiz: Salt River Elementary Schools.

The following documents must be submitted with the Jr/Miss Salt River application:
- PICTURE (headshot) will be used for pageant program. Community Relations Office or a MSR Committee member will take headshot. The MSR Committee will schedule the photoshoot after the application deadline.
- SRPMIC TRIBAL ID or CDIB- Printed copy
- THREE LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
- PHYSICAL EXAMINATION– must be performed within three months of the application due date. Physical exam must be submitted by the application due date.

- PARENT/ GUARDIAN INFORMATION SHEET
- PARENTAL/GUARDIAN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM
PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING FORMS FOR THE PAGEANT PROGRAM:
- INTRODUCTION (Business attire) – Non-Judged Category: Include, typed statement introducing yourself to judges and community. Introduction should be limited to three minutes, stating your name, age, tribe(s), parents, grandparents, school, grade, hobbies, and reason for participating in the pageant.
- TALENT DESCRIPTIONS – MODERN AND TRADITONAL (O’odham or Piipaash) Miss Salt River Participants will perform a modern talent of their choosing AND traditional talent. Jr. Miss Salt River Participants will perform a modern OR traditional talent of their choosing. Talents will each be no more than 3 minutes.
- TRADITIONAL DRESS DESCRIPTION (O’odham or Piipaash) Describe traditional dress and accessories in detail, somethings to include are:
Dress- style, material, color, meaning, design, dress maker etc.
Shoes- bare foot/traditional sandals.
Accessories- jewelry being worn.
Hair style- curled, straightened, pinned back.
- ESSAY- 300-500 words, typed and double spaced reflecting upon current pageant theme. Cover page encouraged.
CATEGORIES JUDGED BUT NOT LISTED
- Impromptu Question- Miss Salt River Participants are required to answer an impromptu question on stage
- All participants must attend Orientation on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at 5:30pm for important information regarding the pageant and “Pageant Week”.
- All Jr. Miss participants must attend orientation with a parent/guardian. All Miss participants must attend orientation, parents are encouraged to attend.
- For this year’s pageant, Miss Participants will choose to showcase both a Modern and Traditional talent and will not be showcasing an evening-wear category.
