Field Operations Division (FOD)

Overview

The Field Operations Division (FOD) is commanded by a police captain who oversees and directs the operations of the Patrol Bureau, Traffic Enforcement Bureau and several specialty squads. Three police lieutenants command groups of 11 individual squads. The Patrol Bureau is comprised of seven fully functional patrol squads, who provide 24-hour public safety coverage to the Community. Each Patrol Squad is led by a police sergeant and, in most cases, an accompanying police corporal. The Traffic Enforcement Bureau is comprised of a sergeant and five motor officers who provide 24-hour education, enforcement and investigation coverage to the Community. The three remaining specialty squads are: Rangers, School Resource Officers and the Community Action Team. All of these components are trained in the latest police tactics and use of technology to provide the most effective public safety services to Community members and visitors to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
