Get to Know Your SRPMIC Tribal Government
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) operates as a sovereign nation, governed by the Community Council, which consists of a president, vice president, and seven council members. Together, they oversee the development, operations, and services of the SRPMIC government to ensure the well-being of the Community and its members.
All council members are elected at-large by enrolled tribal members and serve a four-year term. They are responsible for legislative decisions, policy development, and governance of SRPMIC, and work closely with the community manager and government departments to ensure services, infrastructure, and resources are effectively managed.
Community Manager
The community manager is a senior non-elected official who reports directly to the Community Council. This role ensures that all government departments, personnel, and resources operate efficiently to serve the Community’s needs.
Supporting this effort, the SRPMIC community manager — who reports directly to the Community Council — acts as the senior non-elected official, managing government staff, daily operations, and resources. Working under the community manager, four assistant community managers provide additional leadership and support, helping to oversee various government functions and initiatives.
