On the morning of February 12, on the third-floor patio of Two Waters Building A, the former Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community presidents still living were invited to attend a roundtable discussion about their terms in office, hosted by current SRPMIC President Delbert Ray, Sr. The event marked a historical first for the Community and tied into the national Presidents Day holiday.
O’odham/Piipaash Walk Turning a Negative Into a Positive

Saturday, February 20, was no ordinary day; it was a day of prayer and reflection for the past, present and future. Close to 250 participants gathered at the Lehi Grounds to take part in the 13th annual Walk for O’odham Piipaash.

As people arrived, you could feel the positive energy radiating, and when you looked around, you could see it in the faces of people.

A New Documentary with Artist Ron Carlos Shares the Art of Pottery

On February 11, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community member and artist Ron Carlos demonstrated pottery-firing at the Heard Museum in Phoenix in conjunction with the premiere of The Piipaash Pottery Way, a short documentary produced by Native filmmaker Steven Yazzie (Navajo) that features Carlos and his artistry.
