Salt River Judicial Center Topping-Out Ceremony

On Friday, January 22, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community hosted a topping-out ceremony for the new Salt River Judicial Center, currently under construction at the corner of Osborn and Longmore roads. Community members and non-Community members gathered on the east end of the building to help raise the building’s last steel roof beam into place.
Tribal Leaders Continue to Advocate for Indian Country at Arizona State Capitol

On Tuesday, January 19, the Arizona Commission of Indian Affairs hosted the 21st Annual Indian Nations and Tribes Legislative Day at the Arizona State Capitol in downtown Phoenix. Various tribal leaders from across Arizona were given the opportunity to remind the state of the importance of Arizona’s relationship with tribal communities.
SRES Students and Staff Travel to Sri Lanka for S.T.E.A.M. Workshop

In December, two students from Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community schools were invited by the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka to attend two science, technology, engineering, art and math (S.T.E.A.M.) workshops in Sri Lanka. The mission was called “Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead.”
Plexus Cuts Ribbon on New World Headquarters

A new tenant has moved into the Pima Center on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Plexus Worldwide, which distributes health supplements, cut the ribbon on its new headquarters building on January 21. Representatives of the Community attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony included President Delbert Ray, Sr., and Council members Jenelle Howard, Archie Kashoya and Michael Dallas, Sr. Representatives from the City of Scottsdale also joined the Plexus staff for the ribbon-cutting
