SRHS Hosts Tailgate Party to Kick Off Football Season

The Salt River High School Eagles football team opened the new football season by hosting a tailgate party on Friday, August 28. Parents, students and guests helped the team by exhibiting their school spirit prior to the teamís first game that evening. The football players were introduced, and they greeted fans and served the barbecue dinner that they helped to cook, along with the Salt River Fire Department and the East Valley Firefighter Charities.
IHS Clinic is Closed Until October 2015
Due to damage caused by recent flooding, the IHS Clinic is closed. Under the direction of the SRPMIC Council, clinic services will be relocated to Building 61 (previously the Community Employment building). It is anticipated that clinic services will be restored by early October. In the meantime, limited pharmacy ser-vices are being provided to Community Members from Building 14 (immediately east of the clinic). Other clinic services can be handled through PIMC.
Youth Enjoy Free Soccer Clinic

Since August 19, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Recreation Department has hosted a free youth soccer clinic at the Salt River Recreation football field. The clinic has attracted well over 100 youth soccer participants and is due to continue into October. This clinic is open to youth ages 4 to 17, who gather every Wednesday evening at the field to learn the sport of soccer while having fun.
