Lehi Baseball Field Dedication

gallery-01Many members of the Lehi Community and players who play or once played baseball/softball on the field gathered together on the Lehi baseball field on a cloudy Sunday afternoon of March 1 for the dedication event.
The gathering was held on the outfield under a white canopy for an unveiling of the newly renovated Lehi Ball Field, which the dedication was accomplished with the help of not only the Community, but also staff of the Salt River Fields, Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies teams.

gallery-02From Friday, March 6, through Sunday, March 9, youth of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community took part in the 2015 Horse Camp held at the SRPMIC tribal wild horse facility.

Let the Games Begin with the Senior Olympics

gallery-03 The 2015 Senior Games were held at the Salt River Community Building. Seniors from various Native American communities traveled to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community to participate in a day’s worth of fun and exercise. Approximately 16 teams traveled to SRPMIC in hopes of taking home a trophy and bragging rights.

Salt River Elementary Get Inspired From Character Counts Assembly

gallery-04A Character Counts Rally was held on March 3 at Salt River Elementary School (SRES) with the help of the Colorado Rockies staff and mascot, “Dinger.”
The rally, which took place out on the school’s basketball court, was intended to reinforce the importance of making good character choices in Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. These are the six pillars of the Character Counts program, which the school teaches all year long.
