On Wednesday, June 24, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Accelerated Learning Academy graduated 23 students during a ceremony at the Salt River Community Building. This is one of the biggest classes since the academy started in 2007.

Proud families of many Salt River Fire Department (SRFD) firefighters attended a luncheon followed by an awards ceremony and swearing-in on June 22 at Casino Arizona’s showroom. The afternoon ceremony started with the Salt River Fire Department Honor Guard posting the colors, which was followed by a welcome address by SRFD Chief Dave Bunce.

On the evening of June 18, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Education Department, with the support of numerous entities, honored Community members for their academic achievements with a recognition dinner at the Talking Stick Resort. The event included a full agenda, dinner and entertainment provided by Native American comedy act James and Ernie.
