Huhugam Ki Museum Marks 27th Anniversary

The Huhugam Ki Museum held its celebration on November 8 to mark its 27th year serving the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The festivities took place outside the museum in various open areas and at Friendship Park.


Tribal Members Featured on November 7 and 8 at the Arizona State Museum

Three members of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community participated in events at the Arizona State Museum in Tucson on November 7 and 8. The events accompanied the exhibit Regarding Curtis: Contemporary Indian Artists Respond to the Imagery of Edward S. Curtis, which will be on display at the museum through the end of March 2015 as part of the overarching exhibit Curtis Reframed: The Arizona Portfolios, which runs through July 2015.


Honoring All Who Served on Veterans Day

Every year, millions of veterans are honored for their sacrifice and service in the United States Armed Forces. Here within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, 454 reported tribal members have served this country or are currently serving.


SRFD Honor Guard Paying Its Respects

On Sunday, October 19, the 31st Annual Professional Fire Fighters Association Memorial Service took place. This important event is conducted to honor the memory of all the fallen firefighters in the past year. This year’s ceremony took place at the Firefighters Bell Tower at the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren in Phoenix.
