Community and Employee Veterans Events

On November 10, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community recognized tribal employee veterans at a program held in the Two Waters Building courtyard. The following day Community member veterans were honored at a program at the Lehi Community Building.

Huhugam Ki Museum Marks 27th Anniversary

gallery-02The Huhugam Ki Museum held its celebration on November 8 to mark its 27th year serving the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The festivities took place outside the museum in various open areas and at Friendship Park.


gallery-03“Salt River Elementary School has been hosting [a] Native American Recognition Days [event] for as long as I can remember,” said Sophia Smith, coordinator and SRES teacher. Salt River Elementary School, which is located within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, set aside two days for Native American Recognition Days (NARD) events in hopes of educating and exposing the elementary students to different tribes and cultures.

SRHS Homecoming 2014

gallery-04“Beat the Knights!!” was chanted by students during spirit week at Salt River High School. During the week of November 3-8, Salt River High School held many festivities for students, staff and faculty. This week allowed for students to show their school pride and help motivate the SRHS football team to beat the Crimson Knights on Friday night. The homecoming festivities ended on Saturday night.
