More than 30 teams participated in this year’s Miracle House Foundation Golf Tournament, which was held Friday, November 21 at the Talking Stick Golf Club. This year ‘s tournament was a milestone for Miracle House Foundation; it marked the foundations 10th anniversary of hosting their fundraising tournament. A shotgun start took place at 9 a.m. with all players heading to the north range.

“I enjoy volunteering at the Miracle House Foundation golf tournament every year,” said Beverly Stanley of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program (SHRRP). “The Miracle House Foundation is such a great organization and a big supporter of the Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program.”

The nonprofit Miracle House Foundation is dedicated to funding the construction of affordable housing for the Native American community, as well as providing grants to other organizations that are committed to assisting Native Americans.

For the past four years, the Salt River Materials Group has been the title sponsor. SRMG President and CEO Roger Smith said, “SRMG is proud to support Miracle House Foundation and I encourage other companies to participate in this worthwhile cause.”

Smith went on to say that the overall benefit is to the Community, which helps to build more homes for families. In closing, he said he had a great time volunteering and connecting with people he hasn’t seen in awhile.

Stanley was one of several volunteers who helped to ensure that the morning went smoothly. “It’s a pleasure to work with [the Miracle House Foundation] and contribute to their vision for the Community,” said Stanley.

Among the teams participating in the tournament, first place went to Navajo Engineering and Construction Services. The second-place team was Chasse Building Team, and the Salt River Materials Group team finished third.

Volunteers are a major part of the success of the tournament with volunteers from the Boy’s and Girls Club of the Red Mountain and Scottsdale Branches, Salt River Materials Group, the Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program and respected individuals in and around the community giving of their time and energy to support the mission of the foundation.

Miracle House Foundation is grateful to the following major sponsors of the tournament:

* Au’Authum Ki, Inc.

* Boys & Girls Club
