Remembering Pearl Harbor

gallery-01On Friday, December 6, a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day program was held in the courtyard of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Two Waters complex. This event was held to remember those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor and to honor those who served our country during World War II.

The Senior Bazaar

gallery-02On the chilly morning of December 7, vendors from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the greater Phoenix area came together for the annual Senior Bazaar, held at the Senior Center.

Hot Chocolate Run

gallery-03More than 12,000 people took part in the Hot Chocolate 15/5K at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick on Sunday, December 8. This was the second year that the run was held in Salt River. Nicknamed “America’s Sweetest Race,” the run is sponsored by RAM Racing and has become one of the more popular events with Valley runners, who can choose either the 15K (9.3-mile) or the 5K (3.1-mile) route. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Men and Women's Tournament

gallery-04The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community hosts various athletic tournaments throughout the year, and one of them is the Pi-Copa Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament. This year’s tournament was held at the Salt River Community Building November 27-30.
