New Year's Eve Celebration

gallery-01The 2011 New Year’s Eve Family Celebration took place at the Salt River Community Building parking lot on December 31 from 4 p.m. until midnight. Midway rides and game booths were set up, and the Teen Dance for ages 13-17 featured DJ Tony and was held inside the Community Building. At 8 p.m. Two Rivers Band played Chicken Scratch inside the Pi-Copa Gym. The wristband presales totaled 160 for the 2011 celebration.

Singing at the Capital and ECEC Christmas Program

gallery-02Every year since 2003, the Salt River Elementary School chorus has been invited to participate in the Annual Holiday Concert Series at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix. Several other school choruses from around the Valley also take part.
This year the group traveled to the capitol to sing six songs: “Just Chillin,” “Winter Sun, Winter Fun,” “Fireflies,” “Wondrous Star,” “White Christmas” and “Silent Night.”

On December 15, many family members gathered at the Salt River High School auditorium to watch the Early Childhood Education Center’s Christmas program. The performance is presented for family and friends every year before the winter break.

gallery-01Salt River Elementary School Presents: 2011 Christmas Program on December 16, 2011. All grades participated including the F.A.C.E. Program students; students performed a number of Christmas songs and a musical play of the Nutcracker.


gallery-01The Salt River High School varsity wrestling team competed in the Cactus Classic Wrestling Tournament on December 9 and 10 in Glendale. The Salt River Eagles varsity basketball team lost 68-61 to Tempe Prep on December 16 at Salt River High School. Salt River Elementary School students participated in the 1.2-mile fun run on December 20.
