Volleyball teams consisting of employees from throughout the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community government have been getting together throughout July and early August to participate in co-ed volleyball games at the Pi-Copa Gym. Games are on Wednesdays and Thursdays during lunch breaks, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the teams consist of either three men and three women or two men and three or four women.

Currently 12 teams are playing all the way to the double-elimination championship game, which will be held on August 7 at noon.
So far, as of July 24, the Lockdown team from the Salt River Department of Corrections has made its way up the bracket undefeated, as has the Early Childhood Education Center team.

All employees who have participated in the volleyball games receive WellPath points. WellPath is a program for Community employees that offers incentives for following a healthy lifestyle of exercise and good nutrition.
