In conjunction the wellness program that the Community has been hosting, Salt River elementary school’s kindergarten class of Mrs. Dawn Burstyn-Meyers decided to get in on the wellness track and become advocates of living healthy lives at the student’s young age. The chair which was a recycled chair of the elementary school was used sanded and painted on. Each student of Burstyn-Meyers picked out a healthy fruit or vegetable that is their favorite and took turns painting it on the chair along with signing their names on the seat.

The chair was decorated with many colors of the healthy foods thus its name “The Healthy Chair”

While painting the chair the children learned all about the food pyramid, exercising, brushing your teeth going to doctor’s visits and just living a healthy life style and the importance of eating healthy.

“They all really enjoyed learning about the food pyramid and learning to live the healthy lifestyle,” said Burstyn-Meyers on her class.

The chair will be on display at the Round House Café at the Two Waters complex real soon.
