Darice Enos 3rd annual Memorial Horseshoe Tournament

One of Arizona’s biggest winter storms interfered with the third annual Darice Enos Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, but that couldn’t stop the festivities. Robin Enos, wife of the late Darice Enos, in whose memory the tournament is played, said, “Every year during the tournament it rains, and with rain you cannot play horseshoes.” So the tournament was postponed until February 6, which turned out to be a perfect cool-weather day.


Talking Stick Golf Club Holds Community Golf Clinic

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community youth and their families gathered on a beautiful Friday afternoon to participate in the Talking Stick Golf Club Golf Clinic on February 19. The clinic was held for Community members of all ages to learn the game of golf, with a focus on driving from the tee.


2010 Valentine’s Classic Basketball Tournament

Love was in the air as youth 12- years-old and under participated in the 2010 Valentine’s Classic Basketball Tournament February 10–13. It was a double-elimination tournament, with a championship per division. The youth played with great skill, bringing in crowds of spectators from all over the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and neighboring cities. Eight teams played in the Boys Division and 11 in the Girls Division.
