Protecting our land, air, and water to preserve our way of life.
The Clean and Green Campaign is a 12-month project designed to build healthy environmental habits in the Community. By changing some simple daily practices that impact how we live and work, we are creating a cleaner and healthier environment today and for future generations. Each month, a new habit is introduced to participants through email and an article printed in Au-Authum Action News.
The habits are little things we can do to save energy, money and create a better overall environment for the Community. These practices encourage participants to conserve water and energy, replace harsh household cleaning agents with green cleaning products, promote reuse and recycling, and cease or reduce the use of styrofoam, plastic bags and plastic water bottles.
Participants receive incentive gifts to encourage the implementation of the new monthly habits, and an average of 6 lunch meetings a year give participants a chance to sit down and discuss their progress and successes.
