Salt River Devco is the latest enterprise of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

Created in February of the year 2000, Salt River Devco is moving forward in its mission to assist landowners in the development of their properties along the Pima Freeway Commercial corridor and has taken full management duties of selected Community assets.

A Comprehensive Development Plan for Commercial and Industrial Properties in the Community has been generated and is in a preliminary draft stage for input from landowners and Community members and ultimately the Salt River Council. Future activities of the enterprise include launching a public relations plan to reach landowners and members of the Community to present the plan for input.

Another activity is to complete the construction of Phase IV of the Chaparral Business Center. Salt River Devco anticipates increased visibility of the company in the Community with two open house celebrations scheduled this fall to welcome Fender Guitar Corporation to the complex and to present Salt River Devco's second office, the Property Development Division, in the 8800 Chaparral building.

In the year 2000, the Chaparral Business Center was awarded the "Excellence in Concrete in Commercial Building" by the Arizona Chapter of American Concrete Institute and has recently been awarded distinction in the Commercial Building category by the Arizona Masonry Guild.
