Salt River Lady Eagles Start Season Strong

The Salt River Lady Eagles basketball team is off to a strong start to the 2017-18 season.

Salt River went 6-1 in December, which included a 54-50 thrilling win on December 21 over Desert Heights (see photos from the game).

Salt River has seven games remaining in the regular season, including senior night against Jefferson Prep on February 8.

ALA-Ironwood visits Salt River on January 19, Paradise Valley Christian visits on January 25 and EVAC visits the Community on February 1. The four home games are scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

‘Double Teaming’ With Salt River Junior High Boys’ Basketball

The future of Salt River boys’ basketball is on display at Salt River Junior High, which has fielded two teams this winter.

On a recent December evening, Team 1 almost won a dramatic double-digit comeback at home to Desert Heights Prep (see photos from the game). The final score was 46-42.

Team 1 has five regular-season games remaining, including two at home: January 18 (Vista Grove, 4:30 p.m.) and January 30 (Heritage-Mesa, 7:30 p.m.).

Team 2 has three regular-season games remaining, with two at home: January 22 (Heritage-Gateway, 6 p.m.) and January 30 (Heritage-Mesa 2, 6 p.m.).

Home games are played at Salt River High School.

SR Eagles Basketball Hopes for Four More Wins

Only four games remain in the regular season for the Salt River Eagles boys’ basketball team.

The Eagles finished December with a 2-4 record, which included a 69-57 setback to Thunderbird Adventist Academy on December 21 (see photos from the game).

Salt River hosts American Heritage on January 25 and Foothills Academy on February 1; for senior night on February 8, Cicero Prep visits the Community. All games are set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The fourth game is at Foothills Academy (7 p.m.) on February 6.
