SRPMIC Diabetes Prevention Program Walk for Childhood Obesity Awareness

Participants begin with a warm-up dance to "Happy" outside at the Salt River Fitness Courtyard.

On September 28, the SRPMIC Diabetes Prevention Program Fitness Center hosted a walk for National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.

At registration, participants were given a shirt in their choice of gray or blue with a basket design created using hashtags of inspiring words.

The instructors started with a warm-up to Pharrell Williams’ song “Happy.” The walk began at the Salt River Fitness Courtyard, going down to the Two Waters Complex, and passing the old judicial building and back. There were also a few fun courses for participants to hop across the markers that had been set up.

A little more than 30 people showed up for the event.
