Day For Kids 2017

On September 22, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Youth Services Department, in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale’s Lehi and Red Mountain branches, hosted the Day for Kids 2017 at the Salt River baseball field. Hundreds of Community members and their children enjoyed an evening of food and fun.

Various carnival-style game booths were set up for youth to enjoy. Many did so with painted faces and goodies in hand. Different organizations, such as the Salt River Fire Department, Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and more, set up tables with promotional items and information about their programs. The table that sparked the most traffic was the ASU booth; many UofA fans made their way over to keep the fun flowing, even among the adults.

Three water slides were set up and a free hot dog dinner was provided to all those in attendance. Families enjoyed playing bingo under the tent, and youth enjoyed prizes and raffle drawings throughout the evening.
