Salt River Schools Looking for Talent

Do you have a passion for teaching? Are you an educator? Or perhaps you know someone with experience in education administration. Lucky for you, Salt River Schools is hiring and recruiting talented individuals to add to its already awesome team.

Salt River Schools will be hosting a job fair on Saturday, March 4, from 8 a.m. to noon. Job-seekers will be able to talk one-on-one with managers and Education staff. No registration is required to attend the job fair.

“Our goals are to encourage Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community members to become a part of an educational system that reflects who and what Salt River—the Community itself, as well as our schools—represents. These goals also include showcasing to the Community who we are as a division and how we challenge our students to be their best,” said Division Superintendent Dr. Louis Laffitte, Jr.

Salt River Schools operates four schools: the Accelerated Learning Academy, the Early Childhood Education Center, Salt River Elementary School and Salt River High School. All together the schools employ about 100 faculty and staff.

“There is more emphasis on recruiting, developing and retaining Community members in the education and teaching profession. As part of our School Improvement Plan, the Human Resources Department is developing more networking and outreach within the Community, which is why you’re seeing more efforts to promote events like the upcoming job fair on March 4,” said Human Resources Director Michael Latko.

Salt River Schools was recognized in 2016 as one of the Top 100 Companies to work for in Arizona, recognized for leadership in compensation, employee benefits and support for professional excellence for all employees.

“There’s a lot of great change and progress happening here at Salt River Schools,” said Laffitte. “Above all, we want to ensure all our students are high achievers, and to do that we need to continue to surround them with teachers and other staff who have the same vision. I look forward to seeing applicants from a range of diverse backgrounds attend the Salt River Schools’ Job Fair. If you have a passion for education, for culture, and especially for student success, we want to talk to you.”
