SRPMIC Recreation’s Summer Camp Talent Show

Youth show off their Lego creations during the Summer Camp Talent Show held at the Community Building.

On the last day of the first session of Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Recreation Department’s Summer Camp, youth showed off their skills at a talent show at the Community Building.

On June 29, parents and other campers sat and cheered on the brave youth, ages 6 to 18, as each took turns demonstrating what they’ve learned, performing skits and dance routines, and singing their favorite songs.

Staff also participated, joining in a fun Zumba routine that the youth learned and showing off the creations of the Master Builders club, which were made out of Legos. The Bow and Arrow Club showed off the bows and arrows they created, as well as reciting club rules. Youth showed off their hoop-dancing skills as well.

At the end of each Summer Camp session, Recreation staff members encourage the youth to participate in the talent show, either demonstrating something they have learned or showing off a particular talent. More than 20 acts were featured.
