Seniors Celebrate Christmas Together

SRPMIC President Delbert W. Ray Sr. shakes hands with seniors at the annual senior holiday dinner held at Talking Stick Resort.

The Salt River Senior Center hosted its annual Christmas Dinner on December 1 at the Talking Stick Resort Ballroom.

This year, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Senior Services Department put on a joint event with the Salt River Administration and Community Council under one roof to enjoy the holiday celebration.

As chicken scratch played many seniors and their guests rushed to the dance floor to dance. Many seniors took part in dancing throughout the night.
About 470 seniors attended, as well as staff and Council members, who handed out gifts to seniors. They performed several Christmas carols, led by SRPMIC President Delbert W. Ray Sr., who also played guitar.

Dinner, dessert and raffles were provided throughout the evening.

The next Senior Services holiday event will be Breakfast with Santa, right before Christmas.
