SRPMIC Community Christmas Program and Holiday Light Parade
Hundreds came out to enjoy various entertainments at the SRPMIC Community Christmas Program and Holiday Light Parade on December 16.
The program began with a welcome and blessing from SRPMIC Vice-President Martin Harvier. Food and craft vendors were open for business, and event staff handed out holiday treat bags. Musical artists from Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock took the stage to entertain guests, including I.M. Coble, Lois Zozobrado, Conrad Varela and SunKissed.
In addition to stage performers, there was a Kid Zone that encouraged youth to partake in cookie decorating and holiday crafts. There was also a pile of snow to play in for young and old alike. Elders gathered inside the Round House Café for bingo, and families stood in line to get their photo taken with Santa Claus. Two Rivers Band from the Gila River Indian Community took the stage to close out the Christmas program.
The Holiday Light Parade began at sunset. The Senior Steppers were the grand marshals of this year’s parade. There were 18 entries, including Talking Stick Resort, TopGolf, the Boys and Girls Club, the F.A.C.E Program and many others. Santa Claus closed out the parade with Christmas cheer for everyone.
