SRPMIC Becomes Home to McKesson Regional Headquarters

Construction workers continue to build the new McKesson Regional Headquarters along Pima Road.

Last November, Ryan Companies US, Inc., and McKesson Corporation broke ground for a new $38 million McKesson Corporation regional headquarters within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s western corridor, in the Chaparral Commerce Center. The building is scheduled to open in October of this year.

McKesson, a California-based company, is a healthcare pharmacology, technology and supply vendor for healthcare businesses. McKesson will soon hire 1,400 new employees and will accommodate more than 2,200 total jobs over the next five years after the facility’s opening. The company is ranked No. 5 on the Fortune 500 list.

The headquarters, a 271,000-square-foot twinned office complex linked by a sky bridge, will feature interiors built for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) commercial certification. The offices also will meet WELL Building Standards, an evidence-based system certifying the health and wellness performance of the building, with hopes of attracting and retaining a qualified workforce.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to being a great place to work, we’re excited to offer our Scottsdale team a new, modern, state-of-the-art work space. Our new location and enhanced facility will help us continue to grow our business in Scottsdale while attracting and retaining strong talent in the region,” said Nick Loporcaro, president, McKesson Specialty Health, in a news release.

The Ryan Company is providing development, construction and financing services for the project, which will be located on the SRPMIC through a ground-lease controlled by Salt River Devco.
