The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community held its annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 8 at the Salt River Ball Field and Von Hayes Field. Dozens of families attended the popular event, many dressed in their best Easter outfits. The morning started off with the egg hunt out on the fields, with children divided into four age groups. More than 80 children hunted for hundreds of hidden goodies, and everything was found in a matter of minutes. Once the egg hunt was complete, families entered their children into the Easter Dress Parade, where the youth were judged on their Easter ensembles. Afterward, many participated in field games including the bunny-hop race, gunny-sack race, three-legged race and egg toss. Top finishers received gift cards and Easter-themed gifts.
