Salt River High School Celebrates Homecoming

The JROTC lead the Salt River High School Homecoming Parade down Center street to the high school.

Salt River High School celebrated Homecoming Week with plenty of fun and activities, including the crowning of the 2016 Homecoming Royalty.

Starting on October 17, SRHS was busy planning and preparing for 2016 Homecoming. The Salt River Eagles showed school spirit throughout the week by participating in a number of events, including a school dance.

On October 18, school held an alumni flag football game with former students of SRHS and even some former students who attended Desert Eagle Secondary School.

Two days later, the school celebrated with a parade and a powderpuff football game. On October 21, the school held a Homecoming pep rally, which honored the student-athletes participating in all of the fall high school sports: football, volleyball and cross-country. The volleyball team played games with students and teachers.

Later that night, it was the Homecoming game. Unfortunately, the Salt River Eagles football team fell to the Orme Warriors, 22-12. The Eagles started off the game with the first touchdown, but they couldn’t carry that momentum forward. At halftime, the presentation of the Homecoming royalty took place on the track, in front of all the fans.

The 2016 Salt River High School Homecoming King and Queen are Jeffery Schurz and Sophia Jackson. The Homecoming Prince and Princess are Jacob Schurz and Layla Shaw.
