Emily King Named Administrative Professional of the Year

gallery-01 You might say they are the backbone of any organization—they greet the public, answer phones and perform routine clerical and administrative duties. They have a way of knowing things that no one else does, like how to get the photocopier going again or how to make contact with an individual. At the end of April, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community recognized the many administrative professionals who work for the tribal government with two separate events.

Peace Officer Memorial and Remembrance Ceremony

gallery-02The Salt River Police Department held its annual Peace Officer Memorial and Remembrance Ceremony outside the SRPD administration office on the morning of May 2. Many were in attendance for the ceremony to show their respect and recognize the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving as a member of law enforcement.

1,000 Books Donated to Salt River Schools

gallery-03On Tuesday, May 3, Fry’s Food & Drug and Discovery Books teamed up to donate a total of 1,000 books to the Salt River School District. In an assembly at Salt River Elementary School, corporate members from Fry’s gave each child and teacher an apple, ruler, pencil and bookmark, along with 1,000 books.
