2016 Senior Games Brings Fun, Laughter and Competition

On Friday, February 26, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community welcomed its seniors and those from neighboring nations for the 2016 Senior Games, held at the Salt River Community Building. Participants competed in a variety of team games, including chair volleyball, oompa lumpa and the walking relay, and they also had a chance to earn some individual glory in games like the chicken throw, obstacle course, basketball throw and other adaptive games.
Colorado Rockies Host Baseball Clinic at SRES

The Colorado Rockies visited Salt River Elementary School on Monday, February 29, giving the students a chance to get out of their classrooms and up onto their feet. Students and staff participated in a baseball clinic, where students could learn about the basics of baseball and healthy living.
Salt River High School Holds Championsí Assembly

On Friday, February 26, Salt River High School (SRHS) held a Champions’ Assembly to recognize five groups of students who have worked hard to earn a championship title: the SRHS Student Council, the Robotics Club, the girls JV basketball team, the girls varsity basketball team and the wrestling team.
