The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Recreation Departmentís Social Programs Division held a father-daughter (or favorite uncle and daughter) Tailgate Party on February 6, at the Recreation Pop Warner field south of the Pi-Copa Gym. The event was held to tie into the Super Bowl, which took place the following day. The Girl Scouts sponsored the party.

The afternoon started with families arriving at the Pop Warner field wearing jerseys or hats of their favorite football teams. A meal of hot dogs and hamburgers was followed by a game of two-hand touch football, with the adults vs. the girls. Other games that took place throughout the afternoon were corn-hole, throwing the football around, and other fun game that helped kick off the celebration for the big weekend.
