The eight young men on the Salt River High School (SRHS) boys basketball team finished with a 5-12 record this season in the Canyon Athletic Associationís (CAA) Central Division I. The SRHS Eagles are led by head coach Cameron Timms.

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Recreation Departmentís Social Programs Division held a father-daughter (or favorite uncle and daughter) Tailgate Party on February 6, at the Recreation Pop Warner field south of the Pi-Copa Gym. The event was held to tie into the Super Bowl, which took place the following day. The Girl Scouts sponsored the party.

San Carlos Braves Basketball Team won the AIA Division V State Championship
SRPMIC member Justin Anderson, and a member of the San Carlos Braves Basketball Team won the AIA Division V State Championship by defeating Bisbee 57-53 in overtime in Prescott Valley on February 27, 2016. This is San Carlos High School 1st State Championship.
