The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Youth Services Department has been through many changes through the years, and it has just gone through another one. On May 12, Youth Services held an open house to mark its relocation to the Community Building, next door to the Salt River Library.

Roadhouse Cinemas Opens at Pavilions at Talking Stick

A new tenant has opened its doors at The Pavilions at Talking Stick. On May 13, RoadHouse Cinemas, which is owned by Arizona resident Josh Snider, opened its second “dine-in movie theatre” in the state (the other RoadHouse location is in Tucson).
 
Community Installs Two “Little Free Libraries” for Kids

We all know that southern Arizona has a tendency to reach triple digits during summertime. With school out, many children keep cool by hanging out at the movies, splash pads, water parks or just playing garden-hose games at home.
 
Individuals Recognized for Learning the O’odham and Piipaash Languages

On Thursday, May 7, the O’odham Piipaash Language Program recognized all 53 participants who attended the O’odham and Piipaash language classes this semester. Students received either certificates of completion or participation.
