Phoenix Mercury Special Holiday Delivery to Salt River High School

On December 10th the Phoenix Mercury made a special Holiday Delivery to the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team at Salt River High School. The Phoenix Mercury selected the Salt River High School Girls Varsity Basketball team this year for its Adopt-A-Team mentoring program. The Phoenix Mercury Adopt-A-Team program is currently in its eight year and this year was the first year Salt River High was selected as a partner.
Salt River Eagles Wrestling Team Update

The members of the Eagles wrestling team of Salt River High School have been working hard preparing for meets this winter. The teamís record was three wins and two losses as of December 18. In their respective weight divisions, junior Jason James is undefeated, 11-0, and sophomore Andre Enas is also undefeated, 6-0. The Eagles will be at 32 wins and 14 losses in combined individual matches.
Who Will Find the Hero in Themselves to Donate Blood?

According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States is in need of blood. With this in mind, the Salt River Fire Department, in collaboration with United Blood Services, hosted a blood drive in the SRFD parking lot on Thursday, December 17. The Bloodmobile was visible from Osborn Road and presented an opportunity for bystanders and good Samaritans to donate blood during this holiday season.
SRHS Players Receive All-State Recognition

Three football players from Salt River High School received recognition by their peers and Arizona high school coaches for making the All-State team. Junior Taden Peck was named CAA Division I First Team All-State offensive line and was one of six players in the state to be recognized for the award. Peck worked on an offensive line that ran the ball for 2017 yards in eight games (252.1 yards per game) and scored 23 rushing touchdowns. Peck also scored two touchdowns while averaging 16.2 yards per catch playing tight end for the Salt River Eagles.
