Salt River High School Wrestling Begins

Three Salt River High School wrestlers started the young season undefeated as the team split its first event.

The team beat Orme 30-24 in points to open the season at home on December 2 with all five competing wrestlers pinning their opponents. In the same event, Harvest Prep of Yuma outlasted the Eagles 54-18.

Sophomore Luz Hill-Jimenez, freshman Joaquin Suniga and senior Jason James Jr. won their matches against Harvest Prep, each starting the season 2-0.

Salt River also competed in the Canyon State Tournament on December 10. Up next for the Eagles, the team hosts a multi event on December 16 and a holiday tournament on December 29.
