Salt River Lady Eagles Start Season 2-0

Heritage-Laveen play against Salt River Lady Eagles at the Salt River High School.

The Salt River Lady Eagles basketball team is off to a nice start to the new season.

Salt River beat Heritage-Laveen 58-15 in the home opener on November 30 and defeated Image Prep–Surprise 54-28 the next night on the road.

The Lady Eagles, now Division II, made several shots early in the blowout against Heritage-Laveen.

So far in the young season, sophomore McKenzie Dockerty leads the team scoring, with 16 points per game, while Dockerty, Lynnice Carlisle and Ki-Ana Loring, all freshmen, have averaged double-digit scoring in the first two games.

Up next, the Salt River Lady Eagles visit ALA-Ironwood on December 15 and play Sequoia Charter at home on January 5.
