SRPMIC member Brandon Anderson (center), with his Team Ft. Thomas Apaches from the San Carlos Apache Reservation, recently competed in the 4 Corners Basketball Championship Tournament at the Wildcat Den in Chinle, Ariz. The team was crowned the tournament champions, this is second consecutive year winning.
Community Member Brandon Anderson Plays in Basketball Tournaments

In January, Brandon Anderson, participated in another tournament in Phoenix, Ariz. The team made it all the way to the championship game, but lost by 5-points to a very tough team from Tucson. One of the key players on Brandonís team was injured in the semi-final game, so he was unable to compete during the championship game.

In March, Brandon Anderson's team, Peridot Our Saviorís Lutheran School, competed in the Black Canyon Lutheran Athletic League (BCLAL) Tournament at the Valley Lutheran High School in Phoenix. They placed third in the tournament. His team consists of five eighth graders. Brandon scored 26-points in the first game and won 44-31. He scored 27-points (made five three-pointers) in the second game and lost 35-40. In the final game, he scored 20-points where they won 46-43.

Brandonís older brother, Justin Anderson, was featured in the last issue of Au-Authm Newspaper as an AIA Division 5 State Basketball Champion with the San Carlos Braves. Brandon and Justin are the Great-Grandsons of the late Michael and Ella Scott Andrews.
