Wellness Fair Brings Community Together

gallery-01The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Wellness Fair on March 24 was a successful night for both Community programs and Community members. The second annual event, jointly organized by the Education Department and the Health & Human Services Department, Prevention and Intervention Services, was a chance for programs to share information on their services for members and guests who could readily benefit.

10th Annual Salt River Veterans Recognition Pow-wow

gallery-02 On Saturday, March 26, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and surrounding communities honored all active duty, National Guard, Reserve Personnel, veterans and families of veterans, through the 10th Annual Salt River Veterans Recognition Parade and Pow-wow at the Salt River football field.

The Veterans Parade started at 9 a.m., followed by a Blue Star Flag Presentation at the football field. In the evening, the grand entry took place, along with the pow-wow
competition which ranged from adults, senior/golden
age, teens and tiny tots.

Justice Center Construction Updates

gallery-03The new Justice Center at the corner of Longmore and Osborn roads is beginning to take shape. Just last month, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community held the Justice Centerís first topping-off ceremony. Now, the Community is anxiously awaiting the completion of the center this fall.

Community Easter Celebration

gallery-04On Saturday March 19, the SRPMIC held its annual Community Easter celebration at the Salt Football field, where families and friends gathered for fun and easter egg hunting.
