On Wednesday, January 7, at the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Tribal Council meeting held at the Council chambers, Phoenix Mercury Executive Vice President/CFO Jim Pitman presented the Community with a signed Diana Taurasi jersey.

On behalf of the Phoenix Mercury, Pitman expressed his thanks to the Community and SRPMIC government for their most recent sponsorship of the basketball team. Pitman also provided Mercury season statistics and highlights.

In September, the Phoenix Mercury won their third Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Championship, against the Chicago Sky. The Mercury finished the 2014 season with a record of 29 wins and five losses.

Receiving the jersey on behalf of Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort was President/CEO Dennis Leong. Community members present at the Council meeting were given the opportunity to meet Pitman and take photos with the WNBA Championship trophy.
