Mervin Monte Named 2015 Employee of the Year

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community tribal government held its annual Employee Christmas Luncheon on December 1 in the Talking Stick Resort ballroom. More than 1,500 employees gathered under one roof to enjoy the Christmas lunch and entertainment and to hear the nominations for SRPMIC Employee of the Year.

Martha Martinez Named Miss Indian Scottsdale Community College

After nearly 22 years of inactivity, the Miss Indian Scottsdale Community College pageant was revived this year by the school’s students and staff. The pageant was held on Monday, November 23, in the school’s Turquoise Room, where four young women competed for the chance to represent their respective tribal communities.
 
Groundbreaking for the Scottsdale Auto Mall at Salt River

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community recently broke ground for the Scottsdale Auto Mall, the first of its kind to be built on tribal land, on December 4. The auto mall will encompass a 70-acre parcel at the Loop 101 Pima Freeway and Indian School Road.
 
Boys & Girls Club Nominates Two for Youth of the Year Program

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale’s Red Mountain and Lehi branches have nominated two members to compete against other youth from Valley Boys & Girls Club branches in the Youth of the Year program.
