SRPMIC Education Department Hosts Community Outreach

Parents and guardians of students attending Ishikawa Elementary, Stapley Junior High and Mountain View High School in the Mesa Public School system were invited to attend a Community Outreach event held at the Community Building on the evening of September 9. A handful of families stopped by the open house to obtain information regarding grades, student and parent online portals, attendance issues, graduation requirements, scholarships and overall parent involvement.

SRPMIC Veterans Celebration

On Saturday, September 6, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community held a celebration for its veterans in the Community Building. The O’odham Veterans Celebration was held in order to reach out to veterans from the Native American community, with emphasis on veterans from the four tribes. The celebration allows for Native veterans to meet and talk with benefits counselors from the Veterans Administration.



 

After-School Programs for Students

Are you looking for some programs or services that can help keep your child busy after school? No worries, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has a variety of options for parents and guardians who reside within the Community, and some programs are open to non-Community members as well. These programs provide youth with support and intervention services on a case-by-case basis, as well as offering a place to hang out and fun activities and things to do.



 

Community Developing New Water-Production Facility

If you have passed by 92nd Street and Osborn Road, you most likely have noticed a tall structure near the northwest corner with a tall fence around it. This is the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s new water-production facility capital improvement project. The project will consist of two water wells, a water-storage reservoir, a pump station and distribution lines. It is located on tribally owned land.
