Seven SRPMIC Members to Serve as Ambassadors During Spring Training

The Talking Stick Entertainment Destination (TSED) has hired seven Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community members to serve as ambassadors for the Community during the spring training season. The ambassadors will welcome, educate and direct visitors to the area as they ride aboard the two complimentary spring training trolleys and/or check out the new TSED visitor center at the Pavilions at Talking Stick.

Young River People’s Council Travel to Washington DC for UNITY

Four members of the Young River People’s Council from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community traveled to Washington, D.C., for the United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY) mid-year conference, which ran from February 26 through March 2.

 

Teens Represent Community Boys & Girls Club Branches to be titled Youth of the Year

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale have selected Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community member Alaza Loring of the Lehi Branch and Red Mountain Branch member Lane Yazzie to represent those branches as finalists for the Youth of the Year Award, presented each year by the Boys & Girls Clubs.

 

Spring Training in Full Swing

On Friday, February 28, the Arizona Diamondbacks played the Colorado Rockies in the second spring training game this season at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale.
