The 2014 Salt River Junior High 7th-8th Grade Basketball Tournament took place at the Salt River Community Building on February 21 and 22. The tournament attracted six teams in the boys division and five teams in the girls division. Talent from all over the Valley and central Arizona was showcased.

The championship games were played on Saturday evening, pulling in a good crowd from the Valley and surrounding communities. The gym was filled with the typical basketball atmosphere: competition, yelling, stomping, the aroma of fresh popcorn and many supporters.

In the girls division, the San Carlos Apache team dominated over Native Thunder in the championship game with a final score of 32-22. This game got the crowds jumping and yelling as Native Thunder trailed and fought to get back.

In the boys division, the Tee Wash Flight defeated the San Carlos Apache team in a grueling 49-16 win. Although the Phoenix Force players towered over the San Carlos players, it did not stop the latter from attempting their shots.
